The objective of the TESOL program is to hone the skills needed to be a teacher of English as a second language, specifically in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Our hope is that through our program students will master the art of public speaking, classroom management, and cultural sensitivity. In addition to this, areas such as the use of video, more specific techniques such as visual lingual instant response (VLIR) will also be discussed. This course focuses on exposing students to as many different exercises, tasks, techniques and materials as possible so that they will be best prepared to teach in diverse educational contexts.
