School Policies

Global Community College strongly believes in creating the best possible environment for our students to learn English. GLOBAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE recognizes performance and encourages that every student should have the right to an environment that is supportive of English language acquisition. This document will explain how this policy will be applied and enforced.

Vacation Policy: Students may not postpone studies to vacation in the middle of the term. You may take a vacation for two months from the beginning to end of a single term, but must give one month advance notice or a $50 dollar fine will be charged. You may take only one vacation per year.

Level Change Policy: A student requesting a change in class level must receive permission from the teacher he or she is currently registered with and the teacher of the class he or she wants to attend. Students wishing to change levels are required to pick up a permission form from the front desk and obtain the signatures of both teachers before the level change will be authorized by the school. Student must be re-tested.

Note: A $30.00 re-tested fee will be charged

Class Change Policy: Students wishing to change classes will only be allowed to do so if the level of their existing class is inappropriate to their skill level. Class changes will not be authorized for any other reason.

Program Change Policy: Students wishing to change programs (e.g. from ESL to TOEFL) must notify office staff of their intention to change at least one month prior to the proposed program change. Program changes will not be allowed mid-term - students will be required to wait until the beginning of a term to commence the new program.

Students are responsible for paying the difference in cost if switching to a more expensive program; if switching to a less expensive program, students will be credited the difference only if they have given the required one-month notice of their intention to change programs.

Note: A $30.00 program change fee will be charged to all students failing to give the required one-month notice.

Refund Policy: * There will be NO REFUND after the first week of the program
